Jamkhandi has an average literacy rate of 60%: male literacy is 67%, and female literacy is 52%. In Jamakhandi, 14% of the population is under 6 years of age.The population of Jamakhandi is quite diverse one in terms of religion,language and culture. Kannada is the main language. AS a professor of philosophy in the Fergusson college,Poona,and then head of the department of philosophy in the allahabad university,and later as its vice-chancellor,his record was a very distinguished one both in academic and administrative fields.

In year 1993, with the motto of Organization, Training, Development, & Awareness in the field of HEALTH, WOMEN & CHILD, ENVIRONMENT, along with RURAL DEVELOPMENT. All the executive members are educated women and are not related to each other and are from middle class families. Our Organization, has been recognized by the local, and District Govt. & Non-Govt authorities through our various trainings, service & awareness activities. Our Organization is economically sound and has got required technical & experienced staff along with the required office infrastructure.
